Careers

Why join us?

Cultures & values

Our aim is to attract, retain and engage the best people in a high performance and supportive culture that drives business success. The Group recognises that a diverse workforce adds clear value for our employees, our customers, our shareholders and the communities we serve. We fully support the principle of equal opportunity for all. We seek to provide suitable access and working environments to ensure that we do not discriminate against disabled employees.

Continuous Development

In 2011, we delivered approximately 1,070 employee training programmes and 1,900 training days covering all aspects of our business. Key priorities, as we implement our new strategy, are identifying and developing leadership talent at all levels and succession planning.

Rewards & Recognition

Our subsidiary businesses have differing pay structures based on their size and local market conditions. Progression within these pay structures is based on competence, achievement of qualifications and performance. We also operate bonus schemes for executive and sales staff. We offer a package of ‘SMART’ benefits to employees including childcare vouchers, a cycle to work scheme, pension savings and the opportunity to ‘buy’ additional annual leave.

Communication

Communication with employees continues to be of high importance and we provide employees with a weekly email newsletter and staff website offering news and information from across the Group.

Types of roles

As a multimedia business we employ staff in a wide range of roles encompassing sales, marketing, promotions, journalism, production, accounting, HR, technology, digital, IT, innovation, design, printing, distribution and support.
