Johnston Press plc, one of the leading regional media groups in the UK and Ireland, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Russell as a non-executive Director with immediate effect.

Ian Russell was most recently Chief Executive of Scottish Power plc, having joined as Finance Director in 1994. Prior to that, he gained extensive experience in a variety of finance roles both in the profession with KPMG and across a range of industries in the UK and Hong Kong. Ian will join the Audit Committee with immediate effect.

Commenting on the appointment, Roger Parry, Chairman of Johnston Press, said: 'I am delighted to welcome Ian to the Board.
