Further to our announcement on 21 June 2005, Johnston Press plc ('Johnston Press') has today successfully completed the acquisition of Score Press Limited ('Score Press') from EMAP plc ('EMAP'). As previously disclosed the acquisition of Score Press was conditional upon completion of EMAP's acquisition of Scottish Radio Holdings plc ('SRH'). Following receipt of the required regulatory clearances all the necessary conditions have been satisfied.

Score Press was acquired from EMAP for an aggregate consideration of £155 million on a cash and debt free basis. As previously disclosed the consideration will be satisfied from Johnston Press' banking facilities.
